As you put your lips together, say HUM
No, much louder than that. That's the sound coming from whatever this is, just a couple of feet outside the front door and many windows of this pretty yellow house on my walk. There's no throwing a blanket over it, or decorating it when company comes for Thanksgiving dinner or a summer bbq. The evergreen's are wonderful but there's still a giant elephant sitting on the front lawn. HUMMMMMMM. I sure hope they bought this house for a song.

Some advice to Obama from a 'typical white person'...
You might wanna silently go help your grandmother up from the bus you threw her under. Somehow when I last posted this photo, I knew I'd be using it again and again.

An Irish Blessing
My wish for you -
I wish you not a path devoid of clouds, nor a life on a bed of roses,
not that you might never need regret,
nor that you should never feel pain.
No, that is not my wish for you. My wish for you is:
That you might be brave in times of trial, when others lay crosses upon your shoulders.
When mountains must be climbed and chasms are to be crossed,
when hope can scarce shine through.
That every gift God gave you might grow with you
and let you give your gift of joy to all who care for you.
That you may always have a friend who is worth that name,
whom you can trust and who helps you in times of sadness,
who will defy the storms of daily life at your side.
One more wish I have for you:
That in every hour of joy and pain you may feel God close to you.
This is my wish for you and for all who care for you.

Tie Dyed Bread Dude!!
I was at Kaufman's Bagel and Deli in Skokie yesterday when the baker came out with a pan of these slices of 'tie dyed'
Challah. When I was packing lunchboxes, the most creative thing I came up with was using a cookie cutter to make heart or circle sandwiches, but imagine the surprise on the face of a PB and J recipient made using slices of this bread! Far out right?! The baker was 'too shy' to appear in the picture and when I called him an 'Artiste' he said 'No, I just really LOVE my job.' It shows. They also have whole loaves of this gorgeous bread on the shelves, but I'm not sure how long he'll be doing this. Way, way cool though..blew me away.
